Comments: 1932 Plymouth Street Rod. National Show Winner!
$68,900. This outstanding all steel Southern street rod took
Harold Roundtree of L & H Rod Shop 2 1/2 years to complete!
That's a lot of "patience", especially for a
professional rod builder! After spending a few pleasurable hours
with a polishing rag going over every inch of this car, I must
say, they named her right! Here's her story! It's a real steel 32
Plymouth coupe, chopped 3 1/2 inches and bobbed 7 inches! The
steel fenders, running boards, floor, firewall and hood are double
walled steel with lots of hand fabrication! The entire cab is
insulated with a hi-tech chrome mylar insulation, so it's quiet
and cool without needing A/C! The boxed frame is highly detailed
and painted with matching graphics underneath. All electrics and
hydraulic lines (stainless) are concealed within the boxed frame. Custom
hand sculpted front & rear "winkers" with a high
mounted stop light are blended so flush in the body, they're
almost invisible! The motor is a freshly built (about 200 miles)
Chevy 350 bored .030 over, balanced and blueprinted with an all
steel crank, Arias "Blower" pistons, Brodix big valve aluminum
heads with roller rockers, a B&M 6-71 Mega Blower, twin Holley
carbs with chrome bowls of course... A set of hand built stainless
Kruger headers with stainless/chrome exhaust! It's really a hoot
to "cruise" at night! The full length neon lights under
the hood really show off the polish and chrome on that outrageous
motor! Driven by a Turbo Hydromatic 400 transmission, with a
B&M shift kit, it's hooked up to a fully chromed Corvette
independent rear suspension with Fatman's hangers, and 3.55 gears,
so it's fun to drive across town or to your favorite event! A
Fatman's chromed leaf spring dropped front axle, Corvette chromed
disc brakes front and rear with chromed Vega cross steering keep
her on the straight and narrow! The interior was custom fabricated
by Billy Scott in Rosewood fabric trimmed with leather, topped off
with a Coming Attractions digital dash, a B&M lockout shifter,
power windows, and a stereo to play all those oldie's! Painted top
and bottom with PPG Deltron urethane in Lipstick red, it's protected by over 150 coats of wax!
"Patience' was the 2nd place winner at the '91 Nationals!
Recently appraised at $125,000. replacement cost, it's not only
too cool,... she's a true bargain in today's dollars! She's just
had a thorough "going over" at the shop, and is ready to
cruise, or show! Don't buy a fiberglass reproduction when you can
own an all steel original old school rod for the same money! Be
cool,..go "Old School"!
